School is starting again, which means we can do just a few things to ensure that the new year is as magical as we can make it. If you’re excited about your student starting classes but aren’t sure what that entails: you’re not alone. Many parents feel out of the loop about what their students want; this list is here to fill you in!
Fun and Flashy Face Masks
Fun and interesting designs for face masks are another great way to show your student’s personality. Although not all students are heading back into schools, those need to have these protective face coverings to ensure that they don’t spread a virus or catch one themselves.
Many fashionable face mask brands are consistently selling out, so talk to your students about what type of masks they want. You can even help them find ones based on shows or movies they like through sites like Redbubble or Amazon.
Backpacks With More Storage
Storage is vital this year. Many schools are cutting down on the use of lockers to keep students out of the hallways and from mingling right now: so having a bag that can carry a day’s worth of essentials is vital. You can still make sure that it’s attractive and is something they’ll want to wear: but you should ensure that storage is a priority. If they have varied classes throughout the week, create a space in your home to store the things they won’t need during specific days, so they don’t have to carry them all at once.
Pocket Hand Sanitizer and Tissues
The most important thing many students need is hand sanitizers and personal tissues. Everyone’s immune system is a little weaker this year since we skipped a season of colds and flu, so help protect your kid from catching anything by sending them with a small bottle of hand sanitizer. Tissues are also a fantastic thing to add so that they don’t have to get up and leave their desk if they have to sneeze or have the sniffles.
Extra Pencils and Pens
Nobody wants their students to have to ask for pencils or pens in a normal year, but this year it’s clear that borrowing things can lead to virus spreading. So instead, try to have an extra collection of pens and pencils in your student’s bag and at home so that if they need them, these supplies are available. The last thing you want to worry about while looking at houses for rent in Austin, TX, is which belongings in your kids’ bag are safe and which may be contaminated.
A Personal Water Bottle They’ll Use.
Keeping hydrated is important for anyone, but especially for those learning and trying to focus at work. Pick out a water bottle with your student that they’ll like, and help them fill it with ice and water every morning or the night before. Having fresh water available will encourage them to drink more and give them a reason to keep hydrated.
