Anna Maria Island FL is just a short hop, skip, and drive away from the main players in tourist traffic in Florida. Nestled just two hours from Walt Disney World, it is a bit of a hidden oasis among over packed theme parks. Find out why you should visit Anna Maria Island FL today!
Anna Maria Island FL is a hotspot for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation with just the right amount of things to do. Activities on Anna Maria Island include bike rentals, kayaking, camping, snorkeling, shopping, and of course tasting some pretty darn good seafood. The island itself is only 7 miles long, making it ideal for renting a bike from one of the many bike rentals, like Beach Bums, and saving on gas. Don’t want to rent a bike? Try a golf-cart rental, or even use the free trolley that goes from one end of the island to the other. Trolley’s stop about every 15 minutes, so you know you won’t have to wait long if you miss one!
Being on an island means you want the sand and water fun as well as the shopping and exploring on land fun. Anna Maria Island FL offers plenty of on the water fun. You can do a dolphin excursion with one of the companies like Paradise Boat Tours. Being on the water is peaceful and relaxing. At least for me.
Anna Maria Island FL offers you the choice of some pretty spectacular beaches. Whether you want Gulf or Ocean, you won’t be disappointed. Coquina Beach is the beach to go to for a full family day collecting shells, playing in the surf, and soaking up the sun. The beach is full of shells ripe for free souvenirs to take home. Just make sure there isn’t a little crab friend hiding in the shell! What I liked most about Coquina Beach was that it had changing stations, picnic tables, and even grills. Making it the perfect beach for a family day on Anna Maria Island FL.
When it comes to food, there is something about being on an island that brings out the best in the chef’s working there. Or at least that was my experience while visiting Anna Maria Island FL. From simple tacos at Poppo’s Taquira to an upscale experience at PIER 22, every bite was delicious. Looking for the best breakfast on Anna Marie Island? Well you simply can not go wrong with a visit to Ginny and Jane’s. They feature cinnamon rolls the size of a small child’s head, and the Creme Brulee French Toast is always a good choice. Want a little something different in your donut life? Make sure you stop at The Donut Experiment to create your own flavor combination. I recommend the Chocolate Iced Donut with Bacon topping. Seriously. Try it.
I could go on for days about the fun to be had on Anna Maria Island FL, but you should just go experience it for yourself!
