Our adventures started out pretty glim. Due to Hurricane Irene, there was zero chance of getting on the largest cruise ship in the world, The Allure of the Seas. We tried every imaginable way possible, even including meeting the ship at the next port, but nothing. I was so bummed until I inquired about a cruise leaving Monday on Celebrity Cruise Lines out of Bayonne, NJ. We got the last stateroom on the ship and off we went. After six months of intensive planning for our original cruise, we didn’t even know the name of this ship. Truthfully, I didn’t care. I just wanted to go away at this point.
We ended up boarding the Celebrity Summit and spent three days docking in beautiful Bermuda. The weather was not great but honestly, we preferred it over the sweltering hot. We did so many amazing things, including going jet skiing on a tour with post-hurricane winds (the tour still went, so we did it), kayaking for the first time, watching some of the best entertainment on the high seas, drinking slightly (okay, maybe a little more than slightly) but you get the picture, getting awesome spa treatments, etc. You get the picture. It was incredible!
Now onto how Hayley and Zane did. Well, they did awesome. We missed Zane’s first milestone of rolling but I am not the least upset because I have already seen him do it a dozen times in the last day. His sleeping was another story but the grandparents took care of them with flying colors – I was never really worried. We honestly missed them a ton but it was so good to get a sans-kids vacation.
The one thing I have to thank my kids for is the ability to get up at 7am even when I was on vacation and haven’t slept well in the past three years. I was so looking forward to sleeping in but it just didnt’t happen. No matter what time we retired for the night, I was still up at that godly hour. So a big Thank You to them for letting me watch the sunrise each morning. Sense my sarcasm!
Enjoy the pictures and I am glad to be back to blogland:

Aw, it looks like you were able to enjoy the vacay even though the circumstances weren't the absolute BEST. It looks fun – I'll take a beach anytime! 😉 It was good that you enjoyed the kids free days, too! We could all use them every now and then – and seeing them when you get back is one of the best feelings EVER. 🙂

Glad you got to getaway, even it it wasn't the original plan. I think it's so important to have alone time with the hubby. You have to treat yourself to vacation just to stay sane;) Looks like you had a blast! And so so glad the babies did great.

my favorite cruise was our Celebrity one out of NYC to Bermuda too! Looks like you had a great time! It was around Hurricane Floyd and the ship was a little rough on the way there. But the rest was great! Then we stayed a few days in NYC when we docked back home!
