Peppa pig is a favorite in our household! When Hayley first started asking for it a few months back, I was like, “What do you want to watch?” I heard of the Nick Jr. shows such as Dora, Diego, YGG, but Peppa Pig- that was new to me. I then went to do some research on it and learned that it is a truly awesome kids show for those aged 2-6. I then told her that she can go along and watch Peppa Pig, and that was 5 months ago. Today, she watches at least 5 episodes of Peppa a week.
About a month ago, Peppa Pig was playing at our local Kidtoons movie theatre. I packed up Zane and Hayley, and off we went to see Peppa on the big screen. The kids loved it so much that we had to return the next day to watch Peppa again. They even got to receive some Peppa books to take home. It was truly a fantastic day.
We were elated when we had a chance to review the new Peppa Pig: Muddy Puddles and other stories DVD. This DVD was a blogger preview of show, Peppa Pig, that airs on Nick Jr. If you are not familiar with Peppa, she is a lovable, cheeky little piggy who lives with her younger brother George (although Hayley pronounces the name GORGE), Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. Peppa loves plain games, dressing up, visiting places and making new friends, but her absolutely favorite thing is jumping up and down in muddy puddles. This DVD is broken up into 10 episodes including Muddy Puddles, Mr. Dinosaur is Lost, Polly Parrot, Best Friend, Hide and Seek, The Playgroup, Mummy Pig at Work, Camping, Gardening, and Bicycles. It also includes 2 Bonus Episodes including The New Car Show and Snow.
The run time of Peppa Pig is 60 minutes which means each episode is 5 minutes long. I love this because if I am taking a quick shower and want to just put on one episode, I can do this quite easily. Usually she throws a fit because she wants to watch the next one as well, but I can definitely limit how many episodes she can watch in a day. All of the stories are also very easy to understand. My daughter, who is 3.5, has no problem following along! The stories revolve around occurrences that happen to a family in their everyday lives. I love the fact that the episodes revolve around love, family, friendship, and fun! I have no problem with her watching Peppa Pig because it really does bring out the best in my daughter and I love the morals taught! It is also fun to see the different themes to each show such as going to the playground, playing in puddles, having playdates, and riding bikes.
Peppa Pig airs on Nick Jr from 12-12:20 pm Monday-Friday and 2-2:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to check out Peppa Pig on their Facebook page.

We LOVE Peppa Pig around here! And it’s pretty cute and not annoying to adults, too, without having adult humor. I’d say it’s the perfect show!
