I was born right outside of NYC and I have  a great number of friends, as well as family who still reside in the New York area! One thing all New Yorkers will agree on- the cost of living is magnified to the nth degree! It is always so hard to find the perfect deals that will make your pocket lighter. Well, there is a new online site that has been established, to help out with the exuberant costs of living in New York City. Even if you don’t reside in New York, there are still some deals that could be bought online for those that like to do a little online shopping. So enough talk- what is this site?

The name of the site is SquareSpot. Plain and simple, SquareSpot is a new online site dedicated to helping families find the greatest offers and discounts on high quality products and services. It will provide great savings and benefits for busy urban moms on the go. The way it works is each week there is various city-based offers for activities and products for you to purchase. There are so many wonderful services that rotate on a weekly basis, so once you see something that interests you, be sure to sign up and purchase the offer before it is gone. Everything at SquareSpot has been personally hand selected by urban moms who want to save money on the products they are purchasing. If the product/service didn’t help moms out with savings in tests, they are not included in the weekly rotations. I love the fact that the offers are tested  out by real moms because I know that I am getting first-hand information.

I decided to test out the site for myself and see how it works. First, I logged onto SquareSpot and created an account. This took all of two minutes and I was on my way to discover top offers in the NYC and tristate offer. Since I now live outside of NY, I was looking for an offer that I could buy online or an offer that I can give for my sister as a present. Once, I logged on I was able to view the online offers. Some of the offers for that week include organic dry cleaning, music classes, ox kids shopping, music classes, dog food delivery and more!

    I would love to take my 7 year old daughter and have a mommy and me weekend in NYC with her!! I am also from about an hour north of NYC in the Middletown, NY area and I can remember visiting the city with my family as a kid and what great times we had!!

    Going for the first time in June! For work. Haha. We’re librarians/library staff (respectively) so we really wanna see the NY Public Library. How sad is that? I also love clothing, so I really want to see the big shopping areas on 5th. 🙂

    We try to stay away from the tourist traps like Times Square that is like a circus now and everything is so expensive in that area. We like to venture off down the off-beaten streets and avenues and try out all the different varieties of food offered at very cheap prices. We also like the parks and markets and looking at all the historical architecture–all the things about New York that make it New York that most tourists never see. We also like to find a street fair when we’re in the city for some cheap shopping and more eating.

    I loved doing the shows, day and night, multiple times a day. It was wonderful. Felt like a full season in 5 days. Cats, Phantom, Titanic, Lion King, Les Mis, off-Broadway shows, as well as tours, made me laugh and cry.

    wow 24 hours of fun.

    My favorite thing to do was to go up to the 1/2 price ticket booth in Times Square and buy tickets for whatever show was playing next. It was so much fun! I got to see Cats on Broadway for $15!

    Well there are several things I’d like to do while visiting NYC. First, I want to visit the Statue of Liberty of course, then I want see a few plays, do some shopping, and even though I am a Chicagoan, and love our Cubies, and the White Sox, my favorite baseball team of all tune is the NY Yankees. I would love to attend one of their games, and be a Yankee fan for a day, wear a NY Yankee cap, and jersey.

    What’s not to love about NYC? Some of our favorite things to do are walk around the city….Central park, Times Sq, 5th ave. We also love to visit the museums and to find hotels with great views of the city skyline.

    I love shopping in NYC. The kids love the Toys R Us Store, and I love watching their eyes as they see the super tall skyscrapers. The husband (although a native NYer) has never done the “tourist” thing in NYC, so I’m thinking we might have to take care of that the next time we head up to visit the family.
