It is finally time to start to officially renovate my basement. The floor plans have been completed and we have narrowed down the contractor to one of two people. Now the time has begun to make the final decision on which contractor we want to go with, and then start the renovations.
You might ask what I want down in the basement and the answer would be easy. I want my own room for blogging, a playroom, wet bar area, bedroom, bathroom, possible kitchen, and a media room. I know it seems like a lot but the rooms in and of itself are going to be small. We plan to knock down some walls that are already existing downstairs and put up some other walls. After we are done, I will start going decorative shopping and will look at sites including Britannia Living for some ideas and suggestions.
I am really excited about his project, although slightly nervous. I tend to be a perfectionist and I know that if things don’t go how I envision them to go, I am going to start getting uptight. I realize that through the process I need to breathe and it will come together perfectly. There will be days that my basement will look like a complete mess, but in the end, it will all look wonderful!
The next step for me is emptying out the basement. Boy, how much I am dreading this! We use our basement for complete storage so this is going to fun going through all those boxes and moving everything upstairs. Again, I am going to have to learn to breathe! It is going to take a lot of time and effort on our part, but hopefully it will all be worth it! I look forward to starting on my basement and will update you on all progresses that are made!
