My son Zane is totally OBSESSED with Minecraft. He has been playing the game with his sister for the last few years and he loves it so much! Which is why when he heard there was going to be a Minecraft movie, he was so excited. This past weekend, my husband took my two younger kids, Zane and Tay Tay to an advanced screening of A Minecraft Movie, which opens this Friday in theaters. He loved it so much that he already bought tickets again to see it this weekend.
ABOUT A MINECRAFT MOVIE:
Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival! Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.
Zane came in with high hopes due to him loving the game and he said the movie surpassed his hopes. Instead of doing any fancy storytelling, he said the story captures the essence of what a true Minecraft fan wants to see in a movie. He said it was creative, captivating, and fun to watch. The graphics including the cascating waterfalls to the breathtaking sunsets, basically everything in this movie was absolutely visually stunning. With the original graphics of this game being so good, they had a challenge to make sure the movie lived up to the beauty of the worlds and A Minecraft Movie did that and so much more. It blurs the lines between film and game where the audience are drawn into the ultimate imagination of the worlds.
Zane gave A Minecraft Movie 9.5/10 stars. Be sure to check out this movie when it opens this Friday in theaters!
