I know this summer I was guilty of letting my kids play too much electronics. It gets easy for them to be on their phones or Ipads but it is not truly something I wanted. I want the kids to be outside as well as play STEM games that are good for them. Recently I found out about a company called Play-A-Maze. They develop hand held puzzles that all your kids will be excited to try! It is fun, innovative, and lets your kids use their brains, rather than letting them waste it on their phones.Gear8™ is a family of hand-held puzzle mazes that take simple fun to a sophisticated new level, while helping children master physical and engineering concepts, and letting adults relieve stress and relax. Presently, Gear8 line includes four toys: Apprentice, Master, Mini and Micro. Each of these toys has unique pathways and challenges.
- STEM learning to understand scientific concepts
- Critical thinking to improve problem solving skills
- Social skills to better communicate with other people
-
Motor skills to foster coordination and hand strength
These puzzles allow for critical thinking, social thinking, and fine motor skills. Children can play these puzzle toys and have loads of fun, without even realizing it is truly educational. For example, in Master you can navigate through 14 gears, 1 pendulum, 24 stations, and 21 traps. You can even challenge your family and friends on it, and you can take it everywhere you go. This would be a great puzzle game for those long car trips, as well. The goal is to play the game to get the ball to its final home base. It reminds me of a pinball machine that can fit in your pocket.
