Being a parent is hard. From the time we find out we’re expecting to the time we head to the hospital to welcome baby home, we anticipate so much. We’re excited, and in-love but we’re also apprehensive and worried. Giving birth is the easy part, it’s when we arrive home that we realize just how hard the journey through parenthood is going to be. We quickly become exhausted, stretched thin and eaten up by our own insecurities of whether or not we’ll able to fulfill the role we were chosen for. Endless diaper changes, feeding schedules, bath times, baby proofing, etc. it’s enough to drive a normal person batty.
Founders of KeaBabies, Jane and Ivan, were once brand-new parents who experienced firsthand the emotional, mental, and physical rollercoaster of parenthood. Their first little one was born in 2016, and enamored as they were, they soon fell into the same rut as many new parents. They were exhausted, their nerves were frayed and they were taking each day one at a time.
Little more than 5 months later they found out they were expecting baby #2. Jane’s 1st and 2nd trimester was what every expecting mama wishes for, easy, but during that time their firstborn became attached to Jane in the way that only a firstborn anticipating a sibling can be. He wanted to be held all the time, and being away from mom caused issues with separation anxiety; this took its toll on Jane, who was very near to giving birth. Constantly holding and bending to pick up their son was causing much discomfort, and soon it fell to their caregiver to do the heavy lifting.
Then, their firstborn had a bicycle accident and injured his spinal cord. From that point on the Jane found herself in a place no mother wants to be in. Self-doubt colored her world, making her question her parenting, whether the stress of it all would harm their unborn baby and left her wondering why such a tragedy had fallen upon their family. Thankfully their son recovered after just 3 months of physiotherapy, and just in time for the birth of the couples 2nd child!
Through their experiences, Jane and Ivan realized the importance of having a strong support system. The revelation helped to birth their company, KeaBabies. The brainchild of the love for their sons, Kash and Keon, Keababies is a brand community where mothers and fathers can come together to support one another through all of the ups and downs of parenthood-whether it’s your first or even your 5th!
While partnering with KeaBabies I was given the opportunity to do a feature on one of their Baby Wrap Carriers. These wraps are among one of my favorites that I’ve tried out in my parenting journey. The story behind them aside, the Baby Wrap Carriers are crafted out of love and dedication by the minds behind KeaBabies, with the intention of creating a deeper bond between parent and child.
Each Baby Wrap Carrier found on their site is made of soft, easy-to-use, breathable cotton spandex blend that is versatile in its uses. The uses you can get out of this baby wrap carrier are just about endless, and include:
- Forward facing baby sling
- post partum belly band
- breastfeeding privacy cover
- swaddle blanket
Say goodbye to wraps of the past that stretch out, overheat your little one, cause back discomfort from unevenly distributed weight or that just don’t fit right. The KeaBabies Wrap Carrier will keep you and baby comfortable all day long, whether you’re at home, the park, shopping at the mall or feeding little one unexpectedly while out to eat.
