If your kids like reading and also like movies (isn’t that almost everyone), I have outstanding news for you! Showcase Cinemas is bringing back the Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesday program, which runs till July 31st! To encourage summer reading, Showcase Cinemas is offering FREE admissions to select children’s film each Wednesday in exchange for a book report.
Here are the Remainder of the Movies being Shown:
- July 24 – How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (Rated PG)
- July 31 – The Lorax (Rated PG)
How Does Bookworm Wednesday work:
On the Showcase Cinemas website, you can print out the book report forms. They are also available at the box office. Accompanying parents or guardians and children under 6 will receive FREE admission. Participating locations will also hold a weekly prize drawing for children who submit a book report. Each week, three winners randomly selected from that week’s submissions will receive a new book and a Showcase Cinemas movie pass. All Bookworm Wednesday attendees can purchase a 123 Go Box for the discounted price of $5!
Showcase Cinemas locations that are participating include:
- Massachusetts: Lowell, North Attleboro, Randolph, Revere, Woburn, Blackstone Valley, Legacy Place, Patriot Place, Worcester North
- New York: Farmingdale, Island 16, Ridge Hill, Jamaica, Linden Blvd.
- Ohio: Springdale
- Connecticut: Bridgeport
- Rhode Island: Warwick and Warwick Mall
Bookworm Wednesdays encourage young children to read during the summer months by offering this incentive of a FREE movie ticket when they present their book report. Find out more information here and see you at the movies: Bookworm Wednesdays.
