In March, Dr. Samantha Meltzer-Brody, Director of the Perinatal Psychiatry Program, UNC Center for Women’s Mood Disorders at the UNC School of Medicine, launched a free, first-of-its-kind iPhone app called PPD ACT. The app seeks to understand why some women get Postpartum Depression (PPD) and why others don’t – critical knowledge to help identify more effective treatments.
Upon the app’s initial release, there was an immediate wave of success. Nearly 10,000 women enrolled within the first month. But there is still work to be done. To help continue increasing awareness and encourage additional downloads, Dr. Meltzer-Brody’s team developed the attached info graphic.
