*Hasbro generously donated 50+ games to help those in need. Big thank you to Hasbro. *
I live about 20 minutes from Hasbro so I know what an absolutely AMAZING company they are! I see it every single day! Besides making unbelievably awesome toys, they are such a GENEROUS company. This year Hasbro sent me over 50 board games and toys for every age group to donate to those in need. Believe me it brought HUGE tears to my eyes when package after package got delivered from Hasbro.
The goal of this campaign was to donate the toys to wherever in the local community that needed it the most. The Joy Maker campaign is so important because it not only helps those in need, it also makes you feel good! Not only was I able to help out, you can too! For every kid or teen who volunteers during the challenge, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Toys for Tots (up to one million dollars worth). If you are looking for ways to give back and help out, please check out the Joy Maker website and consider being a #JoyMaker yourself. Your family’s toy donation is an example of how you can spread joy to others during the holidays. If you volunteer, make sure to share your story on generationOn.org/joymaker so Hasbro can make a donation.
I thought long and hard who I should donate the gifts to and then my friend Chris suggested I donate to the annual foster children in Rhode Island. My friend Chris helped collect the toys and we sent them all to these amazing children for their annual Christmas party.
The event was the annual Christmas foster care party through Department of Children and Families. They service approximately 1500 children in Southeastern Massachusetts. The party is a great time for children that are otherwise separated from their siblings to see each other. They also get to take pictures with Santa that each of them kept. Children are able to interact with their foster families and Social Workers in a fun way. The party was at the Elks Lodge.
The children were so very excited. They were so EXCITED to receive some of the best toys from Hasbro and their smiles say it all really. Any extra toys they had will be provided to new children entering the foster care system before Christmas that have not otherwise had gifts purchased for them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH HASBRO! NOW WILL YOU BECOME A JOY MAKER!?????
