*I sent my contributor to the Sony Press Junket for Rikki and the Flash. Her travel expenses and junket were covered by Sony Pictures. All her opinions are her own and not swayed by outside sources.*
After attending an advanced screening of Meryl Streep’s new movie Ricki and The Flash in New York City, a hair and makeup team was waiting inside Sony’s headquarters to give makeovers to a group of lucky mom bloggers.
Upon entering Sony’s lounge, the room was full of hors d’ouevres and a special cocktail called a “Cherry Lime Ricki.” I immediately grabbed one and jumped in line to get a make over.
I was actually the first one to sit down in the chair!
A wonderful makeup artist named Meghan asked about my makeup style and got right to work. I told her I love eyeshadow, eyeliner and a nude lip. And that’s just what Meghan did for this mom of three!
After my makeup was finished, I hopped into the next chair to get a new hair style for our night out in the city. The stylist asked if I wanted “Ricki braids” and I said “OK, if you think it will look good!” I couldn’t tell you the last time I braided my hair!
I have fine, straight hair, so I wasn’t too sure how it would turn out. A lot of the other bloggers said it looked cute, so I kept the braids in for a while.
But, then I chickened out and asked the stylist to just do beach waves instead. I loved it, I felt like a new person and was ready to have a wonderful night.
Right after our makeovers, we packed on to this luxury bus, (complete with a dancing pole!) and headed to Hill Country for some down-home cowboy food. We were treated to a special menu complete with cornbread muffins, barbecue chicken, collard greens and mac and cheese.
We also enjoyed live music while there. It was amazing! Ricki and The Flash truly came through in each detail of our trip.
Check out this quick recap of my adventures that day!
If you’re wondering how the movie was or what Meryl Streep, Rick Springfield and Mamie Gummer are like in person, stay tuned! I will be telling you all about it this week. You won’t want to miss it!
