We are HUGE NCAA® March Madness fans. While we are not fantastic basketball players, there is nothing like watching the tournament with my family and friends. Of course, when you talk about NCAA® March Madness, it is of course about the basketball, but also almost equally about the food. Well, it is in my house anyways! This weekend we will be having a NCAA® March Madness party for our friends and family. While I love having family and friends over, it is really about the prep for the party. It is going to be a night party so we need some good desserts and of course some good drinks!
Lucky for all of us, there is the Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack available at Walmart right now! There is an in-store display and promo going on too! Coca-Cola is an absolute most have when we watch the basketball tournaments. There is seriously nothing more refreshing than opening up a nice cold can of Coca-Cola! The best part is Coca-Cola has these Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack available at Walmart in delicious flavors including Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke and Coke Zero! Not only are these flavors delicious, but the cans actually get us in the basketball spirit with their themed basketball figures for the NCAA® March Madness right on the can. How cool and most of all, refreshing is that?!
Once I picked up my cans of Coca-Cola, I headed home to taste the deliciousness of the different flavors. There happened to be a basketball tournament on that night I came back, so my husband and I each sipped our cans while watching. Then it got us to thinking about what we could do to enjoy our NCAA® March Madness Basketball Party. Since I brought many Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack available at Walmart (they were only 4/$5, or 3/$5 in certain areas of the country), I needed to create some fun recipes and crafts for my guests to enjoy.
Since there will be kids at this party, I thought it would be fun to create a “Foul Shot” Basketball craft that they can all do while the adults watch the game. It is very easy to do this craft and will make any NCAA® March Madness party a blast.
To make the “Foul Shot”, you will need a can of Coca-Cola (any flavor of the packs will do), a mesh bag (similar to one that you would find wrapped around vegetables in the grocery store), a black pipe liner, a straw, and a basketball cupcake topper.
Instructions for the “Foul Shot”:
1. Take the mesh bag and wrap it around the can of Coca-Cola.
2. Take a black pipe liner and go between the mesh bag spaces to create a top similar to this:
3. Open up the can. Take your straw and use the sharp side of the cake topper to put into the straw.
4. Put your straw with cake topper into your can. When you want to drink out of it, remove the cake topper and drink out of the “Foul Shot” Basketball Can.
Then it was time to create some fun recipes with the Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack available at Walmart. Of course the first thing that comes to mind is Coca-Cola Ice Cream floats. Who doesn’t love floats for the basketball games?! You can do this recipe with so many different flavors of Ice Cream but this what I choose to do and it came out delicious!
Coca-Cola Ice Cream Floats (makes one float)
-1/2 can of Coke Zero
-1/2 cup of Cookie Dough Ice Cream
-2 TBLS whipped topping
-cherries
Directions:
1. Add 1/2 cup of Cookie Dough Ice Cream to the bottom of a glass.
2. Add in 1/2 can of Coke Zero. Do not stir.
3. Top with whipped topping and garnish with a cherry. Enjoy!
Then it was time to do Cherry Coke Cupcakes. Yes they do sound as good as they taste and they are so EASY!!
Cherry Coke Cupcakes (makes 12 cupcakes)
-1 box of Devil Food Cake Mix
-1 can of Cherry Coke
-1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
-7 TBLS powdered sugar
-cherries
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Mix together box of cake mix with 1 can cherry coke with hand mixer or electric mixer.
3. Pour into cupcake pan and bake for 25 minutes. While this is in the oven, prepare the icing.
4. For icing, add 1 1/2 cup whipping cream into a bowl. Add in 1 TBLS at a time and keep stirring to obtain a thicker consistency. By the end you will have all 7 TBLS added with the whipping cream and it should be a thick frosting.
5. Place in bag to ice cupcakes once finished.
6. Take cupcakes out of oven, let cool for 20 minutes, and then ice the cupcakes with the frosting made. Top with cherries and sprinkles. Enjoy!
Again, this recipe is so easy and tastes so good so it is the perfect food to make for the NCAA® March Madness Party.
No party is complete without “Dunk Shot” Pasta.
To do this, all you need to add is cut up broccoli, cabbage slaw, and raisins to a small bowl. About one cup of each and mix well. Then mix 1/2 cup of store brought Italian dressing with 2 TBLS of Vanilla Coca-Cola in small bowl. Top the dressing over your broccoli mixture and enjoy! It is quite yummy!
These are just some of my own recipes featuring the Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack available at Walmart for our NCAA® March Madness Basketball Party! I hope whatever you all do, you have so much fun watching the NCAA® March Madness games!
