6 weeks ago today, Taylor Ann made her appearance in this world. She is a beautiful, wonderful, and shall I say “easy” baby. However, the pregnancy was by far the worst out of all three pregnancies to date. The first 4 weeks of the third pregnancy, I felt great- full of energy and happiness. However, week #5 is when things took a turn for the worst. I developed the worst morning sickness ever and was vomiting up to 3 times a day. It was MISERABLE! I would go to work and just feel like I wanted to go back to bed.
This morning sickness went on for a LONG 20 weeks. Yes, I said 20 weeks. Sure I ate small meals and tried my best to get past the constant nausea but truly nothing really helped. Along with the nausea, I had the worst food cravings! I could eat pasta, bread, and cereal all day long, which inevitably ended in me gaining more weight than I would have liked. The carbohydrates curbed some of the nausea so I figured if I packed on the calories with bagels and such, I would be good to go. I was so wrong in this thinking since I ended up with weight gains and still had about 80 percent of my misery. It was not morning sickness, it was ALL DAY sickness!
Unfortunately, I am one of a staggering statistic of 50 percent of women who suffer from the debilitating morning sickness. Pregnancy is a wonderful fact of life and ultimately leads to our greatest joys, but the misery of morning sickness is very hard. However, there is now a new line of drug-free, natural products to help pregnant women get through those queasy trimesters. New Sea-Band Mama, from the makers of the popular Sea-Bands line, helps to alleviate the nausea associated with morning sickness with anti-nausea wrist bands and ginger lozenges, now available at CVS and select Target stores. The Sea-Band Mama wrist bands use acupressure to trigger the P6 Nei Kuan pressure point on the inside of the wrist to alleviate nausea from morning sickness. Stimulating this pressure point helps the body to calm nausea and vomiting. Sea-Band Mama Ginger Lozenges, free from artificial colors and flavors, were formulated with essential ginger oils to help relieve upset stomach. They also include folic acid to contribute to a normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.
These drug-free nausea solutions like Sea-Band Mama Acupressure Wrist Bands and Sea-Band Mama Ginger Lozenges could have come in real handy when I was pregnant with Taylor. I suffered so much! If I knew about such a great product, I would have ran to the store to pick it up immediately. I have a friend now who is pregnant with her third too and I recommended it. She called me just the other day to thank me over and over, because her nausea has tremendously decreased since using the anti-nausea wrist band and ginger lozenges! Morning sickness is completely debilitating and these products would have made such a difference. I am glad they are helping other pregnant women out!
