When I was at Blogher13 this past summer, I had the chance to screen Delivery Man starring the ever so versatile and amazing actor, Vince Vaughn. When I sat down to screen the movie, I had absolutely no idea what the film was about, other than Vince Vaughn playing a character who fathered 533 through many sperm donations through the years. I was excited to watch it as I found the premise to be funny and knew it would be a great movie.
However, what I did not know was truly how AMAZING Delivery Man was! I go to a lot of movies and screenings every year and I have to honestly say that this might be one of top favorites for the year. It not only left me laughing throughout the movie, but I also shed tears along the way. Whoever you bring to see this movie will LOVE it because it has something for everyone. Everything from the acting, to the staging, to the script, made it in my eyes the movie of the year.
Synopsis: An affable underachiever finds out he’s fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years ago. Now he must decide whether or not to come forward when 142 of them file a lawsuit to reveal his identity. Without giving too much away (after all you must see this movie), David Wozniak played by Vince Vaughn, ends up fathering all these children from so many different sectors of life. Each of the kids has their own story and woes, and David steps in, without making it known that he is the dad, to see if he could make their life better. When the lawsuit comes out, he has the important and life altering decision whether to make his identity known and take a leap of faith. In addition to Vince Vaughn perfect performance in Delivery Man, Chris Pratt and Colbie Smulders each add personality and excitement to the story. The cast was truly terrific from the big name stars in the movie to the many children portrayed in this movie. The acting was really incredibly good!
Delivery Man hits theatres tomorrow, November 22. I promise you that this is one movie of 2013 that you do not want to miss. I loved it so much, that I am planning to go again next week to see it and perhaps a third time. Do yourself a favor and make sure you go to the movies and watch this amazing blockbuster this holiday season!
