For the past two months, I have been sharing my thoughts on the GoodNites Bed Mats. I have shared my story of how Hayley, although completely trained, has experienced nighttime bedwetting accidents that are very embarrassing for her. Before we had the GoodNites Bed Mats, Hayley would have a bedwetting accident and wake up to very wet sheets. She would then proceed to run into my room to cry, as she was upset at herself for peeing the bed. Thankfully, when we found out about GoodNites Bed Mats, her bedwetting accidents have virtually been eliminated. With the one or two accidents during the night she did have, the GoodNites made it easy for us to clean up without having her get all upset.
As I said previously, the GoodNites Bed Mats are disposable mats that are put on a sheet to prevent the bed sheets and mattresses from getting wet. They have a super absorbent core and a protective leakage barrier to prevent accidents from getting the rest of the bed wet. We simply use the GoodNites Bed Mats on the sheet before she goes to bed and if she happens to have an accident, we just throw away the Bed Mats. There is virtually no laundry to be done, other than your child’s pajamas and underwear.
I think by putting the GoodNites Bed Mats down at night for a few weeks, it took away the fear that she might wet the bed at night. Before, she was so fearful that she would wet the bed, as she gets quite embarrassed. However, I think by putting the Bed Mats down, it eliminated any expectations of her being afraid she was going to wet the bed. In turn, since we started using the Bed Mats, she has had exactly two accidents.
Hayley’s confidence has gone up ten fold and I attribute that to how well the Bed Mats really do work! If you have a child who has a problem with nighttime bedwetting, I would recommend to use Bed Mats. If they have an accident do not get upset with them in the morning. Explain to them that accidents happen and assure them that it is okay. I think one of my problems was getting upset with Hayley when she had an accident. However, I realized very quickly that this had a negative effect on her bedwetting. The more I got upset, the more she got worried, and the worse the bedwetting. Make sure you tell your children that unfortunately accidents do happen and do not get upset.
I have had a wonderful experience being a GoodNites Bed Mats ambassador and being able to use the Bed Mats for a few months now. I definitely plan to continue to use the Bed Mats, as I have seen such improvements in Hayley’s nighttime bedwetting. These would work really well with my daughter right now. Once my son stopped needing pull-ups he didn’t have accidents at night. My daughter though has had a little more difficulty with wetting the bed at night.
