This past week, I got to see an advanced screening of Pitch Perfect. This is a movie, that I actually had low expectations before entering, but it far exceeded anything I could ever imagined. It was AWESOME…It was HYSTERICAL!! It will leave you having tears running down your face from laughing so much! I put the trailer up here if you have never heard about it. Usually the trailer leaves you with the funniest parts of the movie, but in this case, you can’t bottle all of the hysterics up in one tiny trailer. Regardless, it will give you an idea of how funny this movie is.
Pitch Perfect follows the story of Becca (played by Anna Kendrick) who enters a college where she does not want to do anything but leave the campus. Her ambition in life is to be a DJ but alas, she ends up in college, due to her father being a professor. Once she arrived at the new college, she can’t seem to find any friends until she gets confronted by the famous acoustic singing group. This group comprises the mean girls, the popular girls, the nice girls, and the overall weird girls. Becca had not idea that joining this group would change her life and see that making friends is essential to life. When Becca joins the group, she brings along amazing songs and mash-ups, and the group climbs their way to the top of all collegiate a cappella groups. From there on, it turns into strifes, fights, love, and the ultimate form of winning in the amazing movie of Pitch Perfect.
This movie was awesome- like seriously A+ material! I just wished the movie was longer because I enjoyed it so much! Be sure to keep an eye on upcoming Rebel Wilson who is by far one of the funniest actresses ever. You might remember her from being Kristen Wiig’s roommate in Bridesmaids or playing a role opposite Elizabeth Banks in What to Expect What You’re Not Expecting. Here she played a member of the all girls a cappella group and she was FUNNY! Keep a good eye on her throughout the movie. I will tell you that one of the funniest lines was when she was pumping gas at the station and some of the boys from the competing a cappella group ends up throwing a burrito at her. Being stunned at being hit, she instantly lies on the floor and screams, “I have been shot…I have been shot.” It might not be funny with me describing it but once you see it, you will be laughing hard.
No other spoilers will be given because I want you all to run to the theatre and see Pitch Perfect. It is a true win!
