For prize pack #4, one winner will receive The Frugal Foodie Cookbook and the Fix it, Make it, Grow it, Bake it book.
1. The Frugal Foodie Cookbook:
Do you have leftovers in your house and wonder what to do with them? I know I am one who definitely ends up wasting leftover food and I always feel bad about this. Laura Star in combination with Lynette Shirk have cooked up a recipe filled guide to eating better while saving a pretty penny. In this book, they show how to use use ingredients and leftovers to create economical, healthy, and tasty recipes.
When I first opened the book, I knew I was in love. The first few pages show you how to roast your own coffee and steam your own milk to create wonderful mocha latte. The authors then go into breakfast alternative that will last all week such as making a dozen of scrambled eggs on the weekend, to be able to use them as hearty breakfasts all week. Through the book, they go into all lunch and dinner entries and provide exclusive recipes. I promise you after you go through this book, you will never get bored with trying to come up with a recipe.
One of my favorite sections of the book is clever kids meals. My daughter is so picky and I have a hard time getting her to eat. We made the lentil burgers for her and she loved it! The burger was so good that even my husband ate it. It was tasty while providing a low cost alternative to some of the more expensive burgers.
The Frugal Foodie Cookbook is truly a remarkable book. Throughout the book, you will not only see tasty and affordable recipes, but you will see a vast array of tips. She will show you how to spend less to make her recipes affordable as well as providing tips when you eat out that will help save you money.

One winner will receive the Frugal Foodie Cookbook with the giveaway starting January 23, 2012.
2. Fix it, Make it, Grow it, Bake it:
Written by author Billee Sharp, this book focuses on appreciating what we have in our lives and advocates on realizing what we have to create a simpler way of living. In this book, you will learn how to edit your life because as they say, in the long run- less is more! It shows us how to make a constructive life for ourselves by consuming less and creating more.
In this book, it covers so many topics in each of the chapters. One will learn eco-friendly tips and recipes, growing vegetables, energy saving tips, kitchen cures, house remedies, starting a community garden, and how to use essential oils. These are just a few of the many topics introduced in the book.
I really loved the Eat, Drink, and Be Merry chapter. In this chapter, I learned recipes to make my own bread and yogurt. I also loved the recipe given for coleslaw and made it just the other day. It was so delicious! I can’t wait to try the sushi recipe. I also loved learning about all the home remedies for such things as head lice, poison oak, stings, and skunk cure. It was truly interesting to me to find out natural remedies I could use.
Fix it, Make it, Grow it, Bake it provides simple and clear suggestions to finding an easier/better/healthier way to exist in our lives. It will reclaim your quality of life in the process.
